Pain au chocolat with almond cream from Marie et Guy's French Bakery are one of my favourite things. And I brought one back the other night and Lydia & Minnow came running to see what I was taking out of that paper bag. Minnow sniffed it and got icing sugar on her schnoz.

Orinally posted on my Tumblr.

Today Minnow went to the vets’ to get her rabies booster. She’d had her leukemia & core vaccinations earlier (where we went to Sears to pick-up an order after), but I prefer her to have things split-up since she has reactions. Anyway, after that we went to the Royal Bank of Canada (Minnow was so pissed that someone had taken the chair by the window she usually sits in at the vets’, by the way. And gave a little dog a dirty look when he urinated on the bottom outside step).

My mom had an appointment at the bank just to confirm something with investments, so it was only going to be about 10 minutes. It was cold today too, and I didn’t want to wait in the car, especially with Minn. So I asked the clerks if I could bring her in while we waited, they said yes, though I think they may have thought I had a small dog instead. I sat down, and Minnow sat on the floor beside me, watching people come & go, and the sidewalk outside. The tellers had to all come investigate, ask her name, and tell her she was pretty. I then took her into Kate’s office during my mom’s appointment. She peeked through the blinds & door vent of the office, and it was so damn cute. Afterwards her & I waited in the car while Mom went to Tim Horton’s. I told her she was so well behaved, and I was so damn proud of her.

I had such a hard time getting the new tag onto Minnow’s harness, as the ring was so small. I registered her at { https://www.soslostpets.com/ } too!

Firstly here is Lydia yawning (recorded with my RAZR):

---

As I mentioned before, I took my 3 brats out for little walks on Saturday.:

"Yesterday I took my 3 brats out for 10 minute walks. I had hoped for a repeat of last year's adorableness in the autumn leaves, but Minnow is the only one that briefly pounced on anything. I have 3 videos from it/them to upload to YouTube once they convert. I had a hard time getting them to even go out though D: Minnow got harnessed fine, but then ran up stairs and hid. Nicolas was freaked-out that he was going to the vets' again.--So I let him walk where he wanted instead of carrying him to the front lawn where the leaves are. Lydia thought that I wanted to play chase with her, and ran up-and-down the stairs and bounced all over the place not letting me catch her. However once all of them were outside, they were fine! Lydia is probably the vest to walk as she doesn't squirm if I have to pick her up."

3 videos of walking cats & me rambling... )

---

And yesterday (Monday) I took Minnow for a very small one, and Nicolas for an over an half hour one. I wasn't planning on, but my mom had just washed their sweaters, and I just put them on to see if they had shrunk any. Well Minnow ran right to the door & started meowing, so I had to take her out. But once outside she just sat on the stump of the old crab-apple tree & ate grass. It wasn't very cold out (though it looked like it would rain) so I was content to just sit or stand and let Nick do his own thing until it started getting dark.

The rest of the pictures & video can be found {HERE}

EDIT---
Here is a picture of a robin:

I love watching them hop all over our lawns, getting into scuffles, and looking at people like 'Whut?'. I know ours (Nova Scotia's) aren't robin-robins, but I think the North American robins have better eyeliner :P

---

I've also been doing that "Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward" countdown thing I mentioned. I've just drawn Zero & Ace, but as long as I can keep calm and enjoying it, I should be fine. Today/Tomorrow is Snake, but I really am not looking forward to his intricate jacket. Why do you wear such a ridiculous to draw jacket, Snake?

I plan to make an entry with all 9 (maybe 10) drawings when I finish, but here:

Zero → { http://twitpic.com/b4ake6 }

Ace → { http://twitpic.com/b4ll62 }

My point is to get them done, so I'm just doing that cute style with flat colouring. I use Standard layers so the white cutout background isn't needed, but I think things 'pop' more/I like it. To colour Ace took me 1 hour, 40 minutes.

Nick had been cleaning himself a lot the past week, and I just figured it might be worms, so decided to just watch for any sight of them. But on Monday evening Nicki was in the litterbox a very long time, and I was worried so I picked him up and when I did he let out a little cry. Now he is not a very vocal cat outside of trilling (and wailing pitifully when he wants out in to the porch)-Hell, he rarely purrs-so I got more worried. That night he was dopey and his ears, nose, & paws were hot. I was planning to go visit Douchette on Tuesday but instead called the vets' and made an appointment. I didn't know if anything was going to be wrong so I booked his needles too just in the case that there wasn't. Well at about an hour before said appointment he started squatting on the floor like he was trying to pee, and when I picked him up he growled so I started worrying about FLUTD (Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease). We got to the vets' and he embarrassingly pooped on their furniture, and the diagnosis was a partially blocked bladder. She took him right away for sedation & to be unblocked, and I had to sign a form & leave him there overnight for observation after the procedure. I felt so bad for him & missed him terribly. Like he often curls-up beside me when I'm watching television, and I play with his little paws--I had no-one to cuddle or hold my hand. The doctor called me before they closed to tell me that unblocking went so well they didn't even need to use a catheter, and that he was awake, bright, and doing excellent. I still didn't sleep very well that night though.

I called the office a half hour after they opened on Wednesday and he had ate & urinated on his own so I went and brought him back with instructions & medication (I might scan his discharge papers). He was dopey & utterly disgusted; just flopping in the middle of the floor and staring off into space. He did eventually get up to stuff his face with his new special food, then went back to sleep on the chesterfield this time (in about the same position as the above picture). So I decided to have a fried egg sandwich, a mug of tea, & crawl back to bed (I had a splitting headache, and was bothered over the bill). About the time I got up, he got up too, and I planned to give him his pill & try him with the canned urinary food (it's cheaper & they said it would work better/dissolve the remaining crystals faster)! ...But he started crouching again and seemed very distressed. So I called the vets' but the doctor was busy and would call me back. Before said callback he had dribbled and growled when I went to pick him up (Nick rarely growls). They said to bring him back, so I harnessed him & we headed out. As June was opening the door he let go all down my leg & my foot D: And he peed again all over the waiting room floor when we arrived. So since he clearly had no control they decided to keep him overnight again (which usually is less expensive than a recheck examination). I was so worried last night. My mind kept going to "What if it is something else?!" like what if it's bladder cancer? Or his kidneys? I was so, so worked-up and crying. My cats are one of the very few things I have in life, and though I'm not much, I'm also all they have. They are probably the closest thing I'll ever have to children. So the thought of something being seriously wrong, & maybe even losing my boy terrified me. And I had no-one to even ramble to to get myself calmed-down either. Like the only one of the people that would talk to me & might be online has his own problems, and I hate logging into IMs (ebuddy) anyway because of all the 'Invited To Chat' or just showing as their e-mail address people making me so upset (and to add to that my Twitter Following went down by 2 more. Because me already being upset, & with people knowing something hurts me, means more reason to make me feel worst). So I eventually just had a bath then watched some "Buffy The Vampire Slayer".

I didn't call the vets' first thing this morning, waiting for them to when ready. 10:44AM she called and told me that he did well and they found no more blockage. He ate a lot more than the night before, urinated easier, and was spunky. So now he is back! He really is a lot perkier (going around rubbing against stuff, wanting to be petted, trying to escape)! The vet says he might have more accidents due to not having full control yet, and is still very tender, but that he should be fine once the pills kick-in more. We've given him, mostly free roam for now, but if he has another spasm accident, he'll get confined up in June's bedroom. He just ate & is now dozing with his orange mouse after I wouldn't let him into the back porch to play in the wood pit.

This is Lydia Georgette Bubbleman Dumphy.

Though I often refer to her as 'Bratface' or Lydiepants. She is a petite cat (just at 8 pounds), but recently turned 1 year-old on April Fools. As you may know she has been to the vets' a lot since I got her, for jumping on the cast iron wood stove & burning her feet, to two chest infections. Anyway today she had to go over again. Yesterday morning she kept vomiting (but had not had any different food, and all my houseplants are cat-safe), and after the 6TH time I made her an appointment. This morning was the soonest I could get her in, but once I called her stomach seemed to settle, so it didn't seem like an extreme emergency. But the rest of the day & night she was dopey, sleepy, & not frisky as she usually is. But though she had perked-up a bit by morning we still went over since she still wasn't quite herself.

Dr. Elson looked her over, and after Lyd hissed & growled we managed to get her temperature; leading to us learning she has a fever. Ever since I got her, her belly has seemed extended a bit, and it had been something we have tried not to worry about, but to watch. Anyway today her stomach felt harder, and Bratface got quite agitated when prodded.--Leading Dr. Elson to suspect a possible obstruction. And since "Lydia eating something she shouldn't." is very possible, I decided to be safe and to have X-rays done (all the while reminded of a past associate's problems with a cat eating thread).

The X-rays showed that her stomach lining is just naturally thicker than average, and thus the cause of her sickness is probably just a bug or infection. So she is on medication to see if that helps her out. ...The thing is; just the X-rays cost $125CAD... And all together today's visit was $170CAD ($190.50 including tax). I charged it, and will work at it over time, but it is still more than I have with my means. So I am posting in the hope of getting some assistance in dealing with this expense by offering $5 commissions.

I doubt that many will even read this, and I am very much aware that I don't have much reach as with a support network, or whut-not. Still even a little bit raised would go for a lot. Examples of my art can be found at:

http://s569.photobucket.com/albums/ss138/lady_noremon/artz/?start=0

As can be seen I have several styles from which to choose from, and colouring techniques. ...All of which can be commissioned. Just either leave a comment here (Anonymous is allowed & screening is in place), or send me an e-mail at: ladynoremon at gmail.com

I can scan the bill if proof is wanted I have scanned the invoice for proof, and I will certainly post more pictures of the brat if requested too. Right now she is back with me, and flaked-out on a footstool resting, but still is not that active & rather annoyed at having to go through today's ordeal.

Lastly, just to provide it, my PayPal is: dumphyse at gmail.com

EDIT---
I also do some writing, so I guess I should offer drabbles up too. Examples of that can be provided via e-mail by request.

EDIT---
Her X-rays showed just how tiny she is. Her ribs reminded me of a fish's, and her bone structure of a little bird's. There really isn't all that much to my little brat.

EDIT---
A reminder that I am Canadian and thus this amount is in Canadian Dollars (CAD) ^^;

EDIT---
Update: Lydie is doing a lot better! Last night (May 4TH) I finally got her to eat something substantial-a piece of haddock-and then she went & stole Minnow's (I have 3 cats: Minnow, Nicolas, & Lydia) supper. Today is Nicki's birthday so I opened a can of tuna, and she was a thief for that too. Then later I walked past her, she grabbed my jeans & purposely pulled my sandal off. And soon after she batted Nick, stole his new toy, and then went to the water dish & plunked it into it! This is normal brat behaviour~

EDIT---
...I accidentally paid for an online purchase from my PayPal balance, instead of my chequing account, so I paid that $13.00 amount on my veterinary bill today (04-07-2012) from my bank account. I have scanned the invoice to show so.

EDIT---
Lydia's X-Rays from 2012. I asked Bridgetown Animal Hospital to send me copies for curiosity's sake.
